How to Get a Flex Job: Part 5

Another strategy is to scan job ads and identify the jobs that most appeal to you. Most of these will be full-time positions. Try to research the hiring company and see if you can find out about their flex policies. Are there any people you know at that company or people who may know an employee?  That should help you determine whether you have a good chance of negotiating an arrangement.  Being clear about your targeted industries is essential: that way you can identify those companies within your field that are more open to a flexible arrangement.  For example, if you want to work at a management consulting firm, KPMG and Price Waterhouse Coopers may be good places to start because they have formal and informal flex programs.
